When you meet the man you’re going to spend the rest of your life with, you don’t know how, or when it’s going to happen. With Karen, she found George on (of ALL things) Craigslist! It wasn’t exactly a “dating” post, but interesting enough to pique Karen’s interest. Fast-forward a couple of years and we join our couple on their wedding day!
Globes, red apples, pencils, chalkboard doodles, and school books decorated the venue. A vintage school bell was rung for announcements and to juxtapose the details just a little, an amazing little Barcelona chair lounge was set up in a corner.
edit: Karen’s amazing invitations made it into the Applied Arts Design Annual Awards issue (coming to newstands July / August!)
These two are George’s daughters. Not only did Karen become a wife, but she has now stepped into the role of step-mother too!
How cute is this? Karen started a countdown to her wedding day! Of course we had to show off her shoes there as well.
Just so you know, Karen had lace sleeves before Kate Middleton did. Beautifully custom made ones at that!
George’s portrait taken by Sandra, Karen’s by me.
And this is why I always like to have a second photographer (aka my Sandra!) with me for weddings. While finishing up at the bride’s house, Sandra thankfully got to the venue early to capture these awesome details:
And back to me! After the ceremony and family formals, the was light quickly fading. We ventured over a block to get a couple of shots in front of these huge garage doors that Karen had scouted out a few weeks earlier.
Snapz photobooth was a huge hit at their reception!
I love, love, LOVE the look on Karen’s face for her and George’s first dance as husband and wife.
I also love, love, LOVED being a part of their amazing day!! Thank you again Karen + George!
